Imee Marcos Online!

“A website to rival any movie star’s,” is the best phrase to describe the website of Marcos daughter and current congresswoman Imee Marcos, www.imeemarcos.com. I stumbled upon her website quite by accident, googling for something else. Low and behold, I was treated to a pink and red theme with a huge photo of Imee smiling (is that a difficult-to-execute smile I detect?) that will make any starlet’s photographer proud.

Just a few observations:

The message forum is empty, empty, empty! At least to an unregistered user like me. I’d register but it would be a waste of time, since there didn’t seem to be any discussion going on. A shame really, it would be interesting to see how and what they would discuss.

The rotating star that dots Imee’s “i” is bloody irritating and frankly just comes out as trying too hard. Well, the whole website is trying too hard but the star is just the final nail to the coffin.

The photo gallery is no good. I had a hard time loading the photos and the resolution on the photos were not too good.

I clicked on speeches and it wasn’t updated, the last speech being from 2002. Ditto for the news, last updated September 2005.

Oh c’mon, don’t abandon the site. It’s too good not to poke fun at. Hee hee.

P.S. On a totally different note, that Chinese guy in tonight’s episode of Without a Trace (CBS 2) was totally hilarious. He played the role of someone delivering dry cleaning and was tasked to drag Rachel, an agoraphobic writer, out of her apartment. When they were struggling, he shouts to her, “I don’t have insurance!”
