TV LA

I watch a lot of TV as it is. But it used to be worse, I used to watch TV more often that I do now, which is an average of 3-5 hours a day of “active” watching and 3 more hours of “passive” watching when I have it on in the background before I go to sleep (yes, it’s on when I’m sleeping most of the time).

Loving TV, living in LA is both good and bad.

Good: you get to see where they shoot the TV shows.

Bad: you get to see where they shoot the TV shows. And sometimes you get disillusioned.

Like the Ugly Betty episode where Betty and Henry watch Wicked. The setting is supposed to be in New York but they obviously shot it in Pantages Theater. I know, I’ve been to the theater more times than I care to remember. And yes, Wicked is currently playing there and the theater is an LA landmark.

And then when they shoot so-called downtown New York scenes, they actually shoot it in downtown LA. My previous entries on Spiderman and Transformers pointed that out.

I’m currently watching House and the father and ugly son wanting face reconstruction are on their way to the Princeton, New Jersey Hospital. They are shown about to get on the Amtrak and what do you know, the Amtrak is at LA’s Union Station.

Not a month goes by when I don’t see a sign indicating some sort of filming in progress near where I live. Before when I used to work in downtown, there’d be filming in progress of different TV shows and movies everyday.

So there you have it folks. Another TV day in LA.
