I admit, the past few months have been a blurry haze spent in front of the television. My blog is a testament to this, with all the entries on this and that reality show and this and that series.
But no longer.
I have learned that we lost all the hundreds of TV channels that I used to spend endless hours on watching. Don’t ask me how and why that happened, long story. Suffice it to say, that as an ironic twist and fulfillment of the word “karma,” the only TV channels I have on our cable service are the local channels and *drum roll please* TFC and GMA Pinoy TV.
WTF right?
No CNN, no MSNBC, no Food Netwook, no Travel Channel, no Tru TV, no VH1, no Bravo, none of the freaking channels I watch! Oh, but I have TFC and GMA. The universe is playing a sad, cruel trick on me and punishing me for my evil ways.
But instead of dwelling on my misfortune, I choose to look at the bright side. God knows I’ve been cynical and negative in my growing up years that I make up for it now that I’m a bona fide adult. Less TV means less waste of time. I admit, I’ve wasted hours and hours of my free time glued to the screen. It didn’t mean that I didn’t get out of the house and go on LA adventure trips (I have), but the TV has been a great big distraction. Sometimes, I’d say to myself, I want to write something, or work on that dream project or whatever, then I’d get waylaid by a new reality show or something that I had to watch even if I had no plans of watching it.
So there you have it folks. My new year’s resolution to watch less TV is propelled along by circumstance.

More time to read and experience life first hand! The most important button on the remote is the “Off” button. (Though I confess to having my own TV addictions.)
