It’s been rain, rain and more rain these past few days. I haven’t experienced rain like this since I lived in the Philippines during typhoon season.
Surprisingly, the weather hasn’t gotten me down. Nor has some little irritants in connection with people you dislike but have to deal with.
I’m searching for new blogs to read. If there are readers out there who have interesting blogs or suggestions, leave me a note. I’m still suffering from cable TV withdrawal symptoms. But I think it’s actually good I lost cable TV. I’ve read 3 chicklit books, am now reading a self-help book called The Secret, which is all the rage I understand. The Secret reminds me a whole lot of Celestine Prophesy, which I read ages ago. I found that book quite interesting. Until now, I still ascribe to the philosophy that everything in life happens for a reason and that everyone you meet has a message for you, no meeting is by chance.
Yes, such light reading on my bedside table. But this is only to counteract the serious political stuff I keep on reading everyday. American politics fascinates me no end. I’m just amazed with how things work (or don’t work, but still work compared to most countries), how everyone takes their role in the process so seriously. When will the Philippines reach such a level?
Tuesdays and Wednesdays are American Idol nights. I haven’t seen any serious contestants I might want to root for and this is actually the first time I paid attention pre-singing, but I have to say there have been really hilarious moments. There was one article in the LA Times that was spot on, that there is a thin line between self-delusion of one’s talent and the mentally challenged and this show manages to traverse that.
Oh and in my next life, the one where I have tons of money and can buy whatever I want, I want the new Macbook Air. That’s just what the doctor ordered for me.

Hi, Amee:
Take a look at my blog Therapeutic Family Law. Not as dry as it sounds, especially since you are a political junkie and maybe a policy wonk.
