Dear blogger responsible for itsapurplehaze.livejournal.com aka someone named Trina from the Philippines:
I’ve sent you an email asking you to explain nicely why a whole paragraph from my PERSONAL entry on “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” is on your blog, passed off as your own opinion.
Did our minds merge at that exact moment? Is this a case of super coincidence? Did you just happen to write the exact same thing I did, word for word?
I want answers to these questions. I don’t want to assume anything yet, even if evidence points to the contrary. I can be level-headed about things, but mind you, I have limits.
If you check the dates, my entry was written a few days before yours was. And the language used is certainly not common.
You see, I have a way with words. I even know when I usually use a comma or not, so I can pretty much tell if I’ve written something.
I only chanced upon your blog because I regularly read Chuvaness, and you are linked as one of her friends.
I need an explanation of how this happened. I am waiting for you to email me or leave me a comment here. If not, things aren’t going to be pretty.
These are the screen caps. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’re readable here. But for readers of my blog who are curious about said entry, here is part of it.
Mine. Read full entry here:
As soon as the opening credits started, I felt a familiar glow spreading all over my body. Everything came back. The cast of characters, the plot, the feeling of reading that particularly dark book among all the other books, when Harry, Ron, Hermione et al aren’t kids anymore, but much older with more responsibility and grown-up issues, like dealing with evil on a day to day and falling in love.
I think this particular movie captured the darkness and gloom that the book had. You sense the uncertainty of who to trust, the despair of being in a situation where people you know and love get killed. The teenage angst that all of them are going through is also very well encapsulated in this film. It had it’s funny, awkward moments, and it also had the moments that one can relate to, especially if one is older. All of us have been young once. We know what it feels like and the film conveys the feeling very well.

I finally watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. As soon as the opening credits started, I felt a familiar glow spreading all over my body. Everything came back. The cast of characters, the plot, the feeling of reading that particularly dark book among all the other books, when Harry, Ron, Hermione and others aren’t kids anymore, but much older with more responsibility and grown-up issues, like dealing with evil on a day to day and falling in love. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth film in the formidable Harry Potter film franchise. As much as I wanna fuss about details, obviously one can’t include every single detail in the book. The movie captured the darkness and gloom that the book had. You sense the uncertainty of who to trust, the despair of being in a situation where people you know and love get killed. The teenage angst that all of them are going through is also very well encapsulated in this film. It had it’s funny, awkward moments, and it also had the moments that one can relate to, especially if one is older. All of us have been young once right?

A final word. Plagiarism is so not cool.

Methinks she waved her wand and said, “Plagiario Blogentrus!”
I hope you hear back from her, Ams. I’d feel exactly the way you do.

Thanks J.
Today was a bit weird on the written word front of things.

Just checked my spam queue. Purplehaze aka Trina previously left comments here but they went straight to spam. Comments on old Chuck entries. Hmmm. So now have proof she reads my blog. Getting more fishy by the second.
Trina, if you’re reading this, I will be waiting.
