About Amee

Amee’s childhood was spent in two cities in the Philippines: Bacolod and Cebu.

In Bacolod, Amee learned about political and class consciousness. She made friends for life. Here, she learned to eat well and appreciate the manners that would be essential to life as an adult.

In Cebu, Amee spent blissful summers being an ordinary kid living an ordinary childhood. She learned how to appreciate art and literature. Here, she learned to eat on the streets with real people and develop the gut feel essential to life’s adventures.

Then, when Amee was 16, she decided to grow up and live on her own in Manila. She enrolled at a Jesuit university where she learned to question everything and search for life’s meaning. Sometimes, her mom wished she didn’t allow her to leave. But it was too late for regrets.

When Amee moved to LA, little did she realize that she would be fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a writer. In her own little corner of the universe, she lived her dream.

But it was time to move on and see what was out there. She traveled and realized that exploring a new place is an experience unmatched by any other.

She realized that life is unpredictable and no matter how much you want certainty, you will never get it. What is only certain is in the next few years, more chapters will be added to Amee’s storybook. Thus far, it is only the beginning of her adventure.

  • Hello Amee,

I’m also a blogger and found your WordPress blog through a Google search while finding content regarding the insensitive remark made on the season premiere of “Desperate Housewives” and would like to let you know that I have referred to your blog on mine.

I hope I got it right. Here is the link if you would like to view it.

I am also asking if I may provide a link to your blog on the sidebar content under “Bloggage.”

    Salamat po,

    Michelle

  • Came here searching for Angus Thongs… Have linked your blog to mine. Happy to have landed here…

  • Hi Amee,

I landed on your blog while I was looking for articles on ‘Manapla Puto’.
It sure does bring back a lot of memories. I was born and raised in that small town and, back in grade school, almost every day we would grab us our share of puto.

I’m a big boy living in a big city now. But inside, i’ll always be that little guy who would feast on a little puto in that little town and dream big.

Too bad, until now, I’m still dreaming. hahau. =p

  • Hi Amee! Came here via Google. Been checking political forums and sites about political discourses relating to next year’s Philippine presidential elections. Searched for “Noynoy Aquino for President” and after a few clicks and comments here and there I landed here. BTW, I used to run a blog for political militants, being a web designer and computer programmer myself. What can I say? Got a nice blog here!

  • Hi Amee!

I googled about Noynoy’s bid for the presidency and it brought me to your blogsite. It’s nice to know there are interesting blogs by filipinas, which could trigger varied interactions from other bloggers.

Kudos to you! I’m proud to be a filipina, too.
