Just plain scary.
Dear Readers,
Happy Holidays!
Hope you had a blast in your side of the world.
Watching the election closely. Will do a post mortem after.
I’m not American. I’m Filipino. My vote does not count in the US presidential elections.
But if you can vote, please do. And if you decide to, please vote Obama.
Read this editorial from the NYTimes.
Barack Obama for president.
Eason Chan Aren’t you glad?
I was trying to look for the original video I saw on Channel V but couldn’t find it on youtube (someone from the artist’s group should seriously post it on youtube. That’s where everybody is).
I think it’s a weird-sounding song but something about the lyrics resonated with me. The choosing stability over feeling and in the end, having things work out for the best.
Yes, I promised to blog about Palin but didn’t. Suffice it to say that I, together with two friends, watched the VP debate while we were on vacation at a remote beach. Yes, we were such nerds. Even if we wanted to just soak in the sea and sand, Palin’s magnetism drew us to sacrifice an hour of that time to watch.
I loved how she pronounced nu-cu-lear instead of nuclear. And how she didn’t answer the questions she didn’t know the answer to but instead, brought up her favorite topic, on energy. I also loved how she said unlike you Washington insiders and you betcha. Haha.
But sorry, Sarah bear, Joe takes the drama moment of the debate, when he talked about losing his wife and raising his kids as a single dad. That was worth an award right there because yes, Joe is a regular guy who lost a wife, raised kids, married a teacher, stayed married for 30 years, and still commutes to work on a regular basis. He just sounds smarter than you do.
Of course I had to watch Tina Fey on SNL parody Sarah Palin. I didn’t notice that first that it was Queen Latifah who was the moderator, I really thought she was Gwen Ifill all along when I was watching it from someone else’s computer screen. Haha to me.
But what is this little arguments we see between McCain and Palin, arguments that are making its way into the media? How this plays out should be interesting.
Now if only the SNL skits were readily available on youtube or could load faster without delays, life in the third world wouldn’t be as bad, especially since I can now watch up to date episodes of my favorite shows online without having to download them and AXN actually airs the US version of the Amazing Race 24 hours after it hits US TVs. Ain’t life grand.
Experiencing technical difficulties. Will post soon. Promise.
I read with interest Vanity Fair’s The Follieri Charade. Funny, this part is:
But if he wasn’t misleading people, Follieri clearly knew which props to use to create the right effects. The altar was one. The Filipino nun in full habit at the receptionist’s desk was another.
What are the chances that a Filipino is mentioned?
The story is twisted, with a smooth-talking Italian basically conning America’s rich and powerful and involving the Catholic Church all the way from the Vatican. She’s probably thinking she should just have gotten involved with a fellow actor. Now, the FBI are involved.
From reading the article, aside from the fact that this guy really conned his way, I’m guessing it’s the crappy way he treated his employees, the waiters, etc. that really did it for him.
Poor Anne Hathaway.
Without my noticing it, my blog has already reached 100,000+ hits according to the WordPress counter.
I know this isn’t much compared to other blogs, but it’s nice to know there are people out there who read what I write.
Thank you readers.
Watching The Buzz. Typical showbiz fodder. Can anyone tell Phoemela Baranda (is this how her name is spelled?) to stop talking like Kris Aquino? Di bagay, sobrang OA. When she talks, it’s like she’s chewing on something. Careful too on the p’s and f’s…
