This is an unexpected (but most definitely pleasant) honor. When I started blogging, it was to express my thoughts on issues while away from home using a medium that was truly my own without commercial consideration. Being recognized for my efforts will truly inspire me to keep on blogging. 🙂

Edit: The winners of the blog awards are out. Check the list here. Congratulations to all the finalists, winners, organizers and volunteers. Keep on blogging!

  3. A comment about this blog from my friend jj. Reposting, as I find it totally hilarious:

Coffee with Amee is a semi-serious blog about Philippine and American Politics, American Idol, Britney Spears, and whatever Amee chooses to write about. You may not always agree with her perspective, but she always has a point, and can back it up with facts, which is more than I can say for most of the blogosphere. Give it a browse! One thing I can say, it’s not a waste of your time.

Edit: Coffee With Amee is nominated one of five finalists for the 2007 Philippine Blog Awards, Special Awards, OFW Category. I’m so proud!!

  7. I came across the Philippines Blog Awards by accident while surfing the net looking for new Filipino websites and homepages to add to my Filipino Links webpage. While skimming over the various blogs by several authors such as yourself, Amee, I felt a rush of positive energy flowing, almost something like an omen, in keeping with the many other positive events happening here in the Philippines.

So just now, on my second cup of Kona coffee, it occurred to me that I could invite my favorite Filipino bloggers to Casa Camilla-Boracay for a FREE stay with us. What do you think, Amee, would any of you show up for a few days on the beach?

  8. Hi Bill.

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

Regarding your question, I believe that is a great idea. You can host a blogger summit at sunny Boracay and I’m sure with the free accommodations, the people you invite would gladly show up.

Personally, I’m dying to go to Boracay. I grew up in Bacolod City, in the neighboring island of Negros, but oddly enough did not find time to visit Bora until it was too late and I found myself here in the US. When I go back to the Philippines, soon I hope, I’ll make sure to make my way there and take you up on your offer. 🙂

  9. Ok Amee, Greetings from Sunny California, I’m in the Bay Area now for a week or so, fly back to Hawaii Sept. 4 from LAX and back to the Philippines Sept. 12. So where are you based in USA? CA? where? We passed through Bacolod last summmer and went to one of the many great Filipino restaurants there. Mabuhay!! Keep in touch, Bill

  10. Hi Bill.

Hope you had fun on your California trip. I am based in Los Angeles.
